The government of Bolivia

Republica de Bolivia (The Republic of Bolivia) is named after Simon Bolivar, the leader of the independence movement in South America during the early 1800's.

Much like the United States and other democratic countries, the Bolivian political system consists of seperate executive, judicial and legislative branches to form a balance of power. Prior to that, Bolivia had over 200 coups, thus averaging a change of government every ten months. The last 25 years have been relatively calm in comparison. Today's political situation in Bolivia can be described as peacefull, but not entirely stable.
